Photo-Journaling the Camargue
April 30-May 9 2013

The Camargue is one of the least known areas of France and located in Provence close to the sea.
It is mysterious and ancient, with medieval walled cities, Roman ruins, rare white horses and black cattle.
We will follow in the footsteps of Van Gogh, Frederick Mistral and Hemingway, all who were deeply inspired by this area.
The opportunity for photographs is limitless and in our journaling workshops (over a glass of wine), I'll tell you about the history and stories that make up the enduring folklore of the Camargue.
The Camargue is where I did field work for my traveling museum exhibit and where I filmed my documentary, "Gardian Nation".

We will dine with my good friends who own the most beautiful ranch in the Camargue, hear amazing regional music, see two UNESCO sites, get up close to the beautiful flament rose (flamingo's) and experience the legend of Sara, the patron Saint of the Gypsies.
There will be wine tasting, hikes through medieval villages and markets.
Although this is a very active trip, there will be down time for your own explorations and to relax.
